1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the AAU Startups Portal, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
Please read these terms carefully. They constitute a binding legal contract between you and Addis Ababa University Startups Center.
2. Use of Service
You agree to use the AAU Startups Portal only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Under strict platform policy, you explicitly agree not to:
- Violate local, federal, or university-wide regulations
- Impersonate other users, founders, mentors, or admins
- Upload virus codes, malware, or trigger security vulnerabilities
- Attempt unauthorized system scans or DDoS attacks
- Scrape data or extract proprietary academic startup ideas
3. User Accounts
When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. We recommend using unique generated credentials.
4. Intellectual Property
The portal software framework, UI design, patterns, database structures, and overall platform technology are owned exclusively by AAU Startups Portal and protected by international copyrights, patent, and intellectual property laws.
5. User Content
You retain all rights to any content you submit, post, or display on or through the service. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and share your content in connection with the university incubation process.
6. Application Process
Submission of a startup idea or application does not guarantee acceptance into any program. All applications are subject to rigorous review and approval by AAU administrators. We reserve the right to reject any application at our discretion.
7. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms, non-compliance with guidelines, or suspension of academic status.
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall AAU Startups Portal, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the service.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any significant changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the version metadata.
